Rodent Control — Mice & Rat Removal in Cleveland County, NC

Mice and rats are more than a nuisance — they chew through wiring, contaminate food, and carry disease. H&H locates entry points, traps the animals inside, and seals the structure to stop reinfestation.

Our Rodent Control Process

1

Inspection & Entry Point Identification

We perform a thorough interior and exterior inspection to identify all active entry points. Mice can enter through gaps as small as a dime (¼ inch); rats through holes the size of a quarter. We map every entry point before placing any traps.

2

Interior Trapping

We place snap traps or mechanical traps in the locations where rodents are actively traveling — along walls, in attic/crawl spaces, and near nesting sites. We service traps on follow-up visits and remove carcasses.

3

Structural Exclusion (Seal-Out)

We seal entry points with rodent-resistant materials — hardware cloth, copper mesh, steel wool, and proper caulking. Exclusion is the only permanent solution to rodent infestations. Without sealing the entry points, reinfestation is certain.

4

Sanitation Guidance

We identify conditions that attract rodents — food storage, clutter, harborage — and provide guidance to reduce attractants between service visits.

Why Professional Rodent Control Is Critical

Rodents are not just a nuisance — they are a significant health and property risk. Mice and rats are vectors for Hantavirus, Salmonella, Leptospirosis, and other diseases transmitted through their droppings, urine, and bites. A single mouse produces 50–75 droppings per day, heavily contaminating food preparation surfaces and pantry areas.

Rodents chew continuously to wear down their ever-growing incisors. They chew through plastic, wood, soft concrete, and electrical wiring. Gnawed wiring inside walls is one of the leading causes of residential fires. The structural and electrical damage from a persistent rodent infestation routinely costs homeowners thousands of dollars.

Store-bought traps and rodenticides address individual animals but do nothing to stop the next generation of rodents from entering through the same unsealed gaps. H&H's exclusion-based approach — finding and permanently sealing all entry points — is the only way to achieve lasting control. We've been doing this in western NC for over 50 years.
