Our Flea Treatment Process

1

Interior Treatment

We apply an insecticide and insect growth regulator (IGR) combination to all carpeted areas, rugs, pet bedding areas, and upholstered furniture. The IGR stops flea eggs and larvae from developing into adults, breaking the reproductive cycle at the source.

2

Exterior Yard Treatment

Fleas live outdoors in shaded, humid areas — under decks, in mulched beds, along fence lines. We treat the yard areas where your pets spend time to eliminate the outdoor reservoir that continuously reinfests pets.

3

Pet Treatment Coordination

We coordinate with you to ensure your pets are on veterinarian-prescribed flea prevention treatment on the same day as our service. Without treating the pet simultaneously, professional treatments are far less effective.

4

Follow-Up Visit

We schedule a follow-up visit in 10–14 days to treat newly hatched adults from any eggs that survived the initial application. The pupal stage (cocoon) is resistant to all insecticides — a follow-up is essential to prevent rebound.

Why Professional Flea Control Works Where DIY Fails

Flea infestations are notoriously difficult to eliminate without professional help because the flea life cycle has a pupal (cocoon) stage that is completely resistant to all insecticides. Pupae can remain dormant for months and then emerge as adults after a chemical application appears to have worked. This is why infestations consistently 'come back' after store-bought treatments.

Professional flea control uses insect growth regulators (IGRs) in combination with adulticides. IGRs prevent eggs and larvae from developing, collapsing the population from the reproductive end. This approach, combined with exterior yard treatment and pet treatment coordination, is the only way to achieve complete flea elimination.

A single untreated flea can bite 400 times per day. Flea allergy dermatitis is the most common skin condition in dogs and cats. For humans, fleas can transmit murine typhus and serve as intermediate hosts for tapeworms. Professional elimination is both a comfort and a health issue.
